About the Trainers

Rachelle Katz, Ed.D., is a licensed marriage and family therapist and psychotherapist in private practice with specialties in eating disorders, alcoholism counseling, and relationship counseling. She is a Certified Addictions Specialist in both alcoholism and substance abuse. Dr. Katz is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Family Therapy, the American Psychological Association, and the American Counseling Association. She served as an honorary Police Surgeon with the New York City Transit Police Department from 1990 to 1996.

Ronnie M. Hirsh, Ph.D., is a licensed marriage and family therapist and psychotherapist in private practice. He is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Board Certified as a Mental Health Counselor, a Master Addictions Counselor, and a Certified and Approved Consultant in Clinical Hypnosis of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. In addition, he is a full member of ASLET, The American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers. His specialties include hypnosis, alcoholism counseling, relationship counseling (couples and families), as well as individual psychotherapy. He is a former educator, and served as a Police Surgeon (Hon) with the New York City Transit Police Department from 1990 to 1996.

Daniel I. Cohen, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with a private psychotherapy practice. He is trained and certified in Gestalt Therapy and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the New York State Psychological Association, and the Association for Humanistic Psychology. Dr. Cohen has over twenty-five years of experience in private practice working with individuals, couples and families. For the past 5 years he has been actively involved in the training of police officers as peer supporters. In his practice, he has worked extensively with police officers and their families.
